Intercultural Design - Samurai Helmet (Kabuto)

Intercultural Design

Purpose of research:
- identify social, cultural and political sphere where the design elements reside
- understand the significance of the graphics
- cultural studies
- philosophy
- sociology
- origin history

Outcome:
- Physical installation and Digital Installation (AR)

We had a change in the final execution on the art installation board and discussed the progress on Miro. There are two paths that we can choose depending on if we hope to focus on forms or shadow play. I sketched out a diagram of how the installation board could work if we were to keep the concept of interactivity and versatility in mind.
Designing assets in adobe Illustrator according to true measurements. Below is the compilation of everyone's assets. Each of us designed around 3 elements.
We then proceeded to the Augmented Reality execution, for which I have to give huge credit to the rest of my groupmates as they are mostly in charge of this stage. We started by changing the assets to 3D in Illustrator but we switched to doing it in Adobe Dimensions as there was a limited choice of material. We settled for the metallic feel we got and moved on to animating in Adobe Aero with lots of trials and errors.
